The Directive 2002/95/EU is limiting usage of six hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment has come into force on EU territory on 01.06.2006.
The Directive RoHS (Restriction of use of Hazardous Substances) is restricting the accurate limits of contents of hazardous substances in homogeneous parts of equipment:
Cadmium (Cd) – 0,01%; lead (Pb) – 0,1%; mercury (Hg) – 0,1%; hexavalent chromium (Cr 6+) – 0,1%; polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) – 0,1%; polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDB) – 0,1%.
